PutterBird Explained

Hi There! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Matt, creator of PutterBird - a luxury golf brand concept featuring hand built rental courses and high-end golf apparel.

That’s me down there about to bogey another hole.

Equal parts golf nerd, artist, perfectionist and woodworker, I set out to create something unique, marketable, functional, and above all, premium. (I also needed something cool to bring to the neighborhood block party) So it was pencil to paper, months of late nights building in my "West Town is the best town" Chicago garage...and boom goes the dynamite - PutterBird was hatched.

A premium brand to play. A performance brand to wear.

So why PutterBird?

Aside from the golf nods - "putter," "birdie," and the fact that the game is played on putting boards, a putter is an actual bird! It’s the dutch nickname for a European Goldfinch, which you may have noticed is also the PutterBird mascot: Pinch the Goldfinch, aka Pinch the PutterBird, aka Pinch the PerfectLogo. Playful yet polished, colorful yet balanced, with a hint of that classic minor-league baseball charm. The best kind of logo.

The name was loosely inspired by Petey the "pretty bird" from Dumb and Dumber. Granted, he doesn't have a head - but, you know, "I just thought he was quiet bird" - and the perfect reference for the brand.

Thanks again for being here. The only thing I've enjoyed more than building PutterBird in my garage is seeing it out in the wild, bringing out fist pumps and hi fives wherever it goes. I sincerely hope you enjoy your experience - on the course or in your gear.

See you on the green!
